The story behind
the cover
For the first time, Azor Goods commissioned an illustrator to create an original artwork for the cover of one of our diaries.
For The Year of the Fire Goat, we worked with Cape Town-based illustrator Lauren Fowler to bring our fiery little goat to life.
Drawn by hand.
Lauren’s work is known for its intricate linework, pattern and symbolism, making her a natural fit for a cover inspired by the character and energy of the Fire Goat.
The artwork began the old-fashioned way: drawn by hand, pen to paper, before making its way onto the finished diary cover.
Together, we worked through the details to create something that felt special, symbolic and distinctly Azor.
Lauren Fowler
Lauren has been working professionally as an illustrator since 2008, with her work appearing across publishing, packaging, fashion and retail, alongside her own personal illustration practice.
A little piece of original South African illustration, created especially for this limited-edition diary.
